Indiana continued its historic run on Saturday night, defeating Rutgers 47-15 in Piscataway, N.J., to extend its win streak to 21 games.

The victory marks the longest consecutive winning stretch in college football since Washington compiled 21 straight wins from 2022 to 2024. Indiana entered the game 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten, while Rutgers was 1-4 overall and winless in conference play.

Running back Turbo Richard led the offensive charge with a career‑best 204 rushing yards and a touchdown, returning from an ankle injury sustained the week prior. Quarterback Josh Hoover added 251 passing yards and four touchdown throws, connecting with wide receivers Nick Marsh (seven catches for 120 yards and a score) and Charlie Becker (eight catches for 107 yards and two scores). The duo became the first Indiana pair to each surpass 100 receiving yards since 2024.

Lee Beebe Jr. contributed 122 rushing yards and a touchdown, reinforcing a ground game that helped the Hoosiers amass a season‑high 593 total yards. Indiana’s balanced attack kept the clock moving and limited Rutgers to just 59 rushing yards, nine first downs, and three possessions inside Indiana territory.

Rutgers quarterback Dylan Lonergan, a former teammate of Richard at Boston College, exited midway through the second quarter with an injury after failing to convert a fourth‑and‑one. Backup AJ Surace took over but could not spark the Scarlet Knights, who managed only 15 points on the night.

The Hoosiers’ defense was equally dominant, recording four sacks and eight tackles for loss while shutting down Rutgers’ offense. Rutgers’ only scores came from Ben Black III and Clay Thevenin.

Indiana’s next challenge arrives on the road against Nebraska on Saturday, a test that could further solidify its place among the nation’s elite. Rutgers will travel to Maryland for its upcoming matchup against the Terrapins.
